The event was organized by the IDG Japan Collaboration Hub, Mindful Leadership Institute Japan, alongside IDG business partner Egon Zehnder, and featured renowned Professor Robert Kegan in a special session focused on the relevance of IDGs in the business sector. This collaborative effort involved all Japanese IDGs Hubs, with a congratulatory video message from IDGs co-founder Tomas Björkman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M7uW80fzqA

Attendees explored the significance of the IDGs movement and its vital role in modern leadership and organizational growth, particularly within the context of achieving SDGs.

Bob Kegan, Senior Scientific Advisor for IDGs, delivered an insightful presentation that highlighted his groundbreaking work, perspectives, and aspirations for the future of IDGs. Known in Japan for his influential book “Immunity to Change”, his presence attracted a diverse group of professionals from business and HR sectors, keen to learn more about implementing IDGs in their organizations.

Also contributing to the event was Junko Edahiro, a prominent advocate for sustainability, who delved into the interplay between SDGs and IDGs, demonstrating how these two frameworks can be harmonized to create sustainable and resilient societies. Junko, well-known for her translation of “An Inconvenient Truth”, continues to champion environmental awareness and social well-being through innovative approaches.

Learnings

It is essential for hubs to prioritize collaboration over competition to strengthen the IDGs movement, particularly in its early stages. At the same time, having multiple hubs in the same region can be beneficial, as each hub serves a unique audience. Through genuine cooperation, we can achieve a far greater impact. Effective communication and strong facilitation are critical to maintaining momentum and ensuring alignment among all participants.

In this instance, our preparation time was limited due to the fortunate and spontaneous acceptance of Bob’s participation. Nonetheless, the team worked with remarkable efficiency and flexibility, which played a pivotal role in the event’s success.

    1. ACTIVE COMMITMENT.
We are required to fulfill happiness for having one thought, one love, one heart and one mind to work for the common goal. The work we do together with all respect, not doing anything to the heart of pride, intrigue or personal gain. Congratulations for good work
